Valentine's Day

These are the beautiful roses my "Boys" gave me, along with a poem that my husband wrote for me. It was a great surprise to come downstairs on Saturday morning and find them there!

The rest of these pictures are from our fun Valentine's Dance Dinner Date. We went to dinner and the Valentine's Dance with some very good friends of ours. We had great food and a great time. Even though, my hubby, doesn't dance, we go for the socialization. I did get him to dance a slow dance with me, though! Victory!

Me and My Girls! Thanks for the great time!

Obsessions

So after reading about my dear friend, Jodi, I decided to write about what happens at my house when I get a little obsessive. I can't seem to read books like normal people. When I read, I read to escape. When I say escape, apparently I mean escape everything. I get a good book and I read it through to the end, in a matter of hours or days. My husband and family just love it! ;) There is no dinner, no cleaning of house, no laundry being done, etc. My husband is patient, but only to a point. So if it is a good series I want to read, then good bye Mom and wife for a couple of days. I am not sure why I can't read a little everyday, like everyone else. But I sure love to read good books that allow me to engross my very being in them. The last series I read was the "Sevenwaters Trilogy" by Juliet Marieller. Now, keep in mind, I read them years ago, but felt like getting them out again and engrossing myself in Irish folklore once again. So I read all of them in a couple of days. I know, I know my husband is saying the same thing. Really? Well I can't do it often, but I do enjoy that part of my obsessive life. :0)

Saturdays

Steve and I spend every Saturday and some Friday evenings in the months of December, January, and February attending our two oldest son's basketball games. We have a great time watching each of them play. Every game they get better and improve. This last weekend, they both played games on Friday and Saturday! They both won their games on Saturday by considerable margins. We were very proud of them, they both scored points and had some great plays.
There are Saturdays that the games are the same time and Steve and I have to split up and go seperate ways. Our youngest son has to tag along and spends a lot of his time complaining about having to sit and watch. We know he really enjoys it! :0)
If you have ever watched recreational basketball leagues play at these young ages, you know what I mean when I say...hilarious, funny, inspiring, and enjoyable!

Another Four Years!

So here I am being "sworn in" for another four years as a Tualatin City Councilor. It has been a pleasure serving in the community for the last two years and I look forward to the next four years. It is very interesting and enlightening to be a city councilor. Oh, the things that you learn! The people that you meet! The good times and the bad times...
Well, here's to another four years!

What a glorious day! After three long weeks, the kids went back to school today. :0)
We had an extended Christmas holiday because of the record snow fall. We were couped up in the house for far too long. It was fun for the most part. We played games and put together puzzles. Oh, but what a relief to have them all back in school and Mom gets a break.
So I got my little chillins off to school and went and enjoyed an hour of exercise with the ladies. Zumba rocks! Then I went and took the dry cleaning to the cleaners, came home and showered, waited for the appraiser to come, then ran some errands to the City offices. It was just one of those days, but completely normal and complaint free. No whining, bickering, etc. I know you Moms out there know what I mean. It felt so good, I even made chicken enchiladas for dinner for my wonderful, loving family. Then we played our new favorite game, Killer Bunnies. I hope you all enjoyed the vacation and the end of it, as I did.

New Year's Eve

We brought in the New Year with some good friends and great food!! Here are our pictures.

Happy New Year everyone!

Monday, December 29, 2008

Well, finally I decided to start blogging. Here is my first attempt. Special Thanks to one of my BFF's for starting this up for me.
We made it through Christmas. The boys all liked their gifts. That's a bonus! I got a new digi camera, so now I can take pictures and post them all over my blogspot!!
With the year ending and the new one starting, I would like to take this time to reflect upon all the blessings, fun and stress we had in 2008. ... Okay, that is enough of that. Now for 2009!! Bring it on. I hope it is 10 times better than 2008.
Some of my New Year's Resolutions are:
Lose weight :0)
Exercise daily :0)
But seriously, I do have some goals that I would like to work on.
I want to spend more "quality" time with my boys.
I want to spend more time doing the things for my spiritual self, that I should be doing.
I want to spend more time doing the things for my spiritual family, that I should be doing.
Some of you get the picture, right?
